Our Story So Far
UXplore was born from a bold idea and an even bolder mission — to connect people, places, and content through the power of location.
The journey begins in 2010 with Joshua Ninan Oommen, a visionary with a rare blend of expertise across technology, entertainment, and business working with various technology projects.
During this time, Joshua managed a development startup called Oliveapps, which specialized in delivering premium app solutions to clients navigating the shift from Symbian to Windows-based platforms. As the demand for customized digital solutions surged, Oliveapps became a launchpad for Joshua, establishing him as both a product strategist and a technical analyst for emerging, technology-driven brands across the region.
In 2012, Joshua took on the role of Regional Music Consultant for Shazam Entertainment, diving into the intersection of music and technology. This was Joshua’s most unique opportunity to be exposed to C level Managements in the Music industry and to drive technical sales knowledge to onboarding companies. Under his Head of Department at Shazam Entetrainment (London), Joshua gained immense knowledge in product management and dealing with Top Tier Clients.
Joshua then took on a project at Nokia Asia in Singapore. This project included a strategic tie-up with the Ministry of Finance subsidiary Venture catalyst and fund division in Malaysia, further expanding his regional impact.
In 2015, he went on to hold key project management positions at Moa Creative and App La Carte (Putti Apps, New Zealand), serving as Regional Manager for Malaysia. These roles gave him valuable insight into the technical, commercial, and operational aspects of mobile app development and Geo fencing/Location broadcasting.
Between 2015 to 2017, Joshua consulted for many starts ups and companies in Singapore Malaysia to use his domain expertise in Location broadcasting as software as a service including being an integral part of a location based Marketing company based in the US.
Fast forward to 2018, Joshua spearheaded a Wi-Fi broadcasting initiative with Railwire Railtel a Telecom company in India , under the leadership of Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor. His duties was to be a ISV to Maintain Wifi broadcasting with Railwire ISP ( India) and deliver location broadcasting advertisement’s to the bandwidth users in three prominent locations in Trivandrum, Kerala.
A creative at heart, Joshua is also a Times Music India label songwriter and composer in 2019. After scoring music for the regional film Mumbaikar, he began envisioning a platform that could help content creators — especially those struggling for visibility — get discovered. Joshua has seen first hand how content creators and business’s strive to get visibility. Today every brand enterprise and shop is a media brand by itself and Joshua’s heart is to use AI and AR to give these creators and business’s another bridge for visibility and another shot at more traffic.
During the end of 2019 while the world stood still due to the pandemic, Joshua found clarity. All the experiences in specific domains gave Joshua the confidence to not waste a pandemic but to use it . It was time to bring his long-held vision to life — a location-based digital solution for content creators, travel providers and local businesses.
He teamed up with:
- Varghese Oommen – a natural travel operations leader.
- Carl Vaz – a renowned destination marketing expert and leader with over 30 years of experience working with tourism boards across India and the Middle East.

Abin Mathews Benny
Abin is a full stack developer with hand on experience in Augmented Reality. Abin is a self driven, motivated and versatile family member of UXplore. Abin stuck through it all with the core team even when times were tough post pandemic. When countless programmer’s found this mission difficult, Abin committed to stay and join hands with Joshua to prove this mission can be done . Their decision to stick together worked well for UXplore. Abin’s hard work, logical mind, never say no attitude and commitment makes him an integral part of the core team.
Together, the UXplore team saw a glaring gap: no truly comprehensive, community-first platform existed — one that helped travelers explore, creators be discovered, and local businesses grow.
That’s how UXplore came to life.
For the team, UXplore isn’t just a tech platform — it’s a deep passionate purpose-driven movement to elevate creators, business’s, service providers and communities. By tying content to real-world places, UXplore enables powerful storytelling, greater visibility, and new opportunities for collaboration and impact.
It’s a bold mission — some may say impossible.
But for Joshua, Varghese, Carl, and Abin, it’s a mission worth pursuing and to give back.
One location. One story. One drop at a time.
